Make a difference on a

Mission Trip

Impacting children, churches and communities.

When you visit the Dominican Republic, you’ll discover how easy it is to love the Dominican people. Connect Caribbean Mission encourages every pastor or mission team member to come as a student and servant. As we immerse ourselves in the Dominican Church, befriend the Dominican children and serve the Dominican community, our hearts knit together for the greater purpose of sharing the love of God.

FAQs

  • CCM hosts both US partner churches’ mission trips and our own mission trips. If you’re going with your own church, you will meet as a church team to prepare and to travel to the DR. If you’re signing up for a CCM mission trip, you will meet people from different churches. A CCM US staff member will lead the trip and our Dominican team will host the team at our lovely mission house. A CCM leader will hold Online meetings to prepare for the trip and build team unity.

  • CCM 2024 team contributions are $1,800 per person. This includes airfare. However, in rare occasions we may need to increase this amount if airfare jumps.

  • In the unfortunate event that CCM needs to cancel an entire trip, CCM will work with the team to reschedule the trip. Hopefully, all team members will be able to reschedule as well. If that’s an impossibility, CCM will either refund your contributions or hold the funds for a future trip.

  • Please inform your team leader as quickly as possible in the unfortunate event that you must cancel.

For Connect Church Trips, if notified of the cancellation 72 HOURS OR MORE BEFORE team arrival, CCM will retain the $200 non-refundable deposit and will refund the rest of the team member’s contributions. Any cancellation 72 HOURS OR LESS BEFORE arrival, CCM will retain the $200 non-refundable deposit and refund up to 50% of the team member’s contributions.

Please be aware that donors are contributing donations to Connect Caribbean Mission. If you receive anonymous donations, we will not be able to refund those gifts. All donations go toward the entire team’s costs. You would also have the option to donate all the gifts to the team expenses and/or to CCM’s ongoing ministry.

For all other churches, they can determine their team members’ cancellation policy.

  • CCM owns a very nice, gated villa in the town of Cofresi which is a resort community on Cofresi Beach. Common areas include an outside pavilion where most meals are eaten and teams meet/socialize, a small café area, and kitchen. The team bedrooms are on the 3rd floor of the villa and contain bunkbeds and air conditioning. There are two sides to the third floor each with a shared bathroom. Plus, there are four outdoor showers. On the second floor, we have two apartments with baths and living areas and an office space. Depending on team size and configuration of men and women, we may occasionally use the second floor for sleeping. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.

  • CCM provides helpful samples of support/prayer letters and tips for raising funds.

Connect Church uses a great mission software app that provides each team member with a personal ministry page where they can create their own Trip Story. Donors can give directly through this link and receive a tax receipt.

Other churches will provide their teams with information on how people can best give.

  • We're excited to be both servants and students on this "mission-cation" experience as we dive deep into the Dominican culture and join with churches and ministries (including CCM’s own Hope Centers) to spread the love of God. We develop our specific itinerary after Team Members register and we discover giftedness, talents and skills during our team meetings. Every trip includes building relationships at our Hope Centers. If you sponsor a child, you will have a chance to meet them! Other activities may include work projects, men & women’s meetings at local churches, leadership development, street evangelism and visiting orphanages and remote villages. We are consistently adding new serving opportunities and are open to suggestions for creative ideas.

  • Our current trips are for adults 18 or older. Teenagers 15 and older are welcome if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • For Connect Church, a CCM Coordinator will book flights landing and departing at Puerto Plata or Santiago airports. CCM will arrange ground transportation with one of our drivers. Typically, ground transportation is in a 15-passenger van with our seasoned bilingual driver and interpreter, Kico. Team members will need to arrange their own transportation to/from their airports. New England-based team members will leave from Boston Logan Airport.

For other church trips, churches will book flights for their teams.

  • If someone would get sick or injured while in the DR, the Team leaders will do everything in our power to care for the team member. Appropriate treatment will be discussed and implemented. Puerto Plata has a medical clinic that serves tourists and visitors if someone would need care. We have received excellent care at the local hospital as well. We usually keep a small bedroom on the 2nd floor available for anyone who needs to quarantine. We highly recommend that you contact your health insurance company to see if health services are covered in the DR. You also may wish to purchase travel health insurance.

  • No, because we have interpreters to help non-Spanish speakers. However, it is great when we have team members with that skill.
